Instructions will be sent to you by email after registration. However, if this is your first time taking an RFW Academe class, you can read our Forums FAQ to become acquainted with how the forums work. You can also check the Academe Forums to see if your class is open. Many instructors ask students to write a quick post introducing themselves and sharing what you are looking forward to learning. Note that you will only be able to view the forum of the class you registered for.

Check your spam or junk folders for an email from communications@regencyfictionwriters.org. If you still can’t find it, contact the RFW Academe Coordinator . To ensure you receive all future mailings, please add academe@regencyfictionwriters.org to your contacts or safe senders list.

We use private forums to present our classes. The content is typically provided as written lectures, many with photos. Discussion amongst the instructor and students is encouraged. Some instructors give Zoom presentations and/or conduct Zoom Q and A sessions, or may provide links to videos.

Not necessarily, although registration and payment confirmation can take up to 24 hours to process. As a result, we strongly encourage participants to register at least 4 days prior to the class start date.

In general, our classes tend to be more information-heavy than assignment-heavy, but you should get an idea of an instructor’s expectations from the course description and format. The Academe Coordinator suggests setting aside approximately three hours per week to take advantage of asking questions on the forums in real time. Regardless, you’re encouraged to work (and participate) at your own pace.

Absolutely! Many students collect the information and save it until they have time to give it the attention they feel it deserves. We tell you up front when the instructors are available to answer questions. Unless otherwise stated, all classes are open (available to download materials) for two months after the class end date. And most  instructors are generous with their time, willing to answer questions until the class closes two months after the official end date.

Yes, but only for a limited time. The forum for the class you registered will remain open (available to download content) for two months after the official class end date.

We love new ideas! Contact RFW’s Academe Coordinator to send us yours.
