Frequently Asked Questions

We use private forums to present our classes. The content is typically provided as written lectures, many with photos. Discussion amongst the instructor and students is encouraged. Some instructors give Zoom presentations and/or conduct Zoom Q&A sessions which are recorded for those who cannot attend the live session, or may provide links to videos.

For more information, see the Forums FAQ.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, China UnionPay, ApplePay, Cash App Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL, giropay, EPS, and Bancontact. For payment-related questions, please contact our Treasurer.

In general, our classes tend to be more information-heavy than assignment-heavy, but you should get an idea of an instructor’s expectations from the course description and format. The Academe Coordinator suggests setting aside approximately three hours per week to take advantage of asking questions on the forums in real time. Regardless, you’re encouraged to work (and participate) at your own pace.

Absolutely! Many students collect the information and save it until they have time to give it the attention they feel it deserves. We tell you up front when the instructors are available to answer questions. Unless otherwise stated, all classes are open (available to download materials) for two months after the class end date. And most  instructors are generous with their time, willing to answer questions until the class closes two months after the official end date.
