Janna MacGregor – Featured Beau Monde Author
Today’s featured Beau Monde author is Janna MacGregor!
Thank you so much for allowing me this opportunity to introduce myself. I was born and raised in the bootheel of Missouri. I am delighted to announce that I’m a debut author with St. Martin’s Press. My first book in The Cavensham Heiresses series is The Bad Luck Bride. I credit my darling mom for introducing me to the happily-ever-after world of romance novels. Her favorite Regencies quickly became mine too. I write stories where compelling and powerful heroines meet and fall in love with their equally-matched heroes. I’m the proud mother of triplets and live in Kansas City, Missouri with my very own dashing rogue, and two smug, but not surprisingly, perfect pugs. I adore hearing from readers.
What do you love best/interests you most about the Regency Era?
That’s easy. I love the men’s clothing, particularly greatcoats and beaver hats. LOL! Seriously, I find the social mores and restrictions placed upon women fascinating. The idea that women in general legally lost their identity and property upon marriage is such a foreign concept. But dig deep into history and you’ll always find an intrepid woman or two who bucked the system. The saying that behind every powerful man there’s a more powerful woman is completely true. You want to study and read about such women? Look no further than the women that lived during the Regency period. They’re my love and inspiration for my stories.
What do you like the most about the Beau Monde Chapter? How long have you been a member?
I love everything about the Beau Monde Chapter. Never have I met a more supportive group of writers. Literally, since joining in 2014, I’ve found lasting friendships with the members that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. Any research question about customs, geography, law, weapons-you get the idea-the Beau Monde has a resource or a member has the answer. Truly, the people that make up the organization are so generous with their time and expertise. I’m lucky to be a member of such a distinguished group.
I had the high honor of serving as the Beau Monde Conference chair for two years in a row. It literally changed my life. I’ve made life-long friends who would drop everything to help me. And I would do the same for them. I encourage anyone who has the chance to volunteer in our chapter to grab it. You’ll receive ten times back in return what you give.

I am sincerely impressed with any author who starts out with St.Martin’s Press! WOW! Just WOW! May I offer my
Congratulations to those of your current followers. I have signed up to followed you and your books without having
read any of your writing. If St. Martin’s thinks you’re that good, you are even better. May we have a long relationship.
Your book cover is stunning! I love all things about the Regency, too–the men who were so beautifully dressed and treated women with courtesy such as standing when ladies entered a room, and the women who used their limited power in life-changing ways. It’s such a great time period in history!
Can’t wait to read Bad Luck Bride! The cover gods have smiled upon you!
Congratulations and best of luck with the new release!
