12 Books Your Regency Heroine Should Read

This course will spread out over the course of the year. Each month introduces a new book that you may not have heard of but that your heroine might well have read! We’ll be looking at some famed reads and some that are less well-known today in order to explore what women were writing and reading in the Georgian and Regency Periods.
Painting the Regency – Art, Society, and Culture in a Changing World
February 1, 2026 – February 28, 2026
This course examines how the Regency era was depicted through the visual arts, exploring the intersection of class, politics, fashion, and daily life. From grand portraiture to satirical caricatures, we’ll analyse how artists captured the social tensions, aesthetic ideals, and evolving identity of the period. This course will use visual analysis, historical context, and cultural critique to explore how the Regency era was both recorded and romanticized through art.
