12 Books Your Regency Heroine Should Read

This course will spread out over the course of the year. Each month introduces a new book that you may not have heard of but that your heroine might well have read! We’ll be looking at some famed reads and some that are less well-known today in order to explore what women were writing and reading in the Georgian and Regency Periods.
Beyond Almack’s - Entertainments for Respectable People
August 1, 2026 – August 15, 2026
There is a great deal of information about the well-trod places in Regency London where respectable folk could find entertainment, from the exclusive Almack’s to the splendid theaters (both those with patents and those without) to Sundays at Hyde Park when anyone—and everyone—could stroll and gawk at the famous and infamous. London, however, has always been known as offering a world of entertainment within The City and Westminster. This workshop will look beyond the usual London Regency hot spots.
