About the Instructor

Serita Stevens, R.N. currently lives in Los Angeles and is an award-winning novelist, selling over 100,000 copies of her works, and an optioned screenwriter. She loves writing thrillers, making history come alive and writes character-driven stories. Her forensic nurse series has been optioned and hopefully will be available later in the year.

She has adapted many books and stories for the screen and does writing assignments as well, placing in the Page Awards and the Nickelodeon fellowship, among others. She studied screenwriting at Columbia College (Chicago) and received her master’s in writing from Antioch University in London while doing her student teaching at Oxford. 

As a forensic nurse, specializing in psychiatry, she provides help with medical, poison, and forensic issues for other writers/producers and has worked as a consultant for Discovery. She feels her role is to educate while entertaining, loves helping animals and spending quality time with her daughter who was adopted from Romania.
