Writing outside of your personal, generational, or cultural experience can be a treacherous road to travel for today’s author. Even with the best intentions, it’s easy to create problematic or harmful content when you’re unaware of what you don’t know. Learn how to use literary theory and criticism to view your work through an alternative lens. By using literary frameworks, you can gain insight into alternative perspectives that can help you identify and eliminate problematic and harmful content before you publish.

Former President of RWANYC, LaQuette writes bold, provocative love stories featuring multicultural characters. Her writing style brings intellect to the drama. She often crafts emotionally epic, fantastical tales that are deeply pigmented by reality’s paintbrush. She fills her novels with a unique mixture of savvy, sarcastic, brazen, and unapologetically sexy characters confident in their right to appear on the page. Contact LaQuette via email.

Testimonial:
I just wanted to add a pitch for this course in case anyone is on the fence. I took it this past winter and found it to be outstanding – very specific, very non-judgmental, very interesting. I learned tons. I’m very grateful to the Beau Monde for making this opportunity available. I’m taking the course again, just so I can keep learning. This is just an outstanding course presented in an outstanding manner.

  1. I may have missed a schedule. Are we to log in at a certain time each day? Or once a week? Will it be recorded if we are unable to attend some days?

Thanks, and sorry if it was covered.

  2. Hi Kristen,
I could swear I registered for both LaQuette’s class and the Virtual Retreat, but I don’t seem to be getting links. Could you please check for me to be sure I’m on the list? Also, if the links are available, please send them to me, okay?
